Apple CEO Tim Cook has attacked tech companies who say more customer data leads to higher quality products, saying it's a "bunch of rubbish".

Tweet from Vice News: Tomorrow. @ Elspethreeve sits for an exclusive interview with Apple's CEO, @tim_cook, about privacy, encryption and so much more. See you on Tuesday at 7:30 pm EDT on #VICENewsTonight on @HBO.

Cook has a long history of adopting a separate privacy approach and continues to deploy new hardware that makes it more difficult to access user information for external organizations (and Apple itself). As of October 3, 2018, the $ 1 trillion company has strengthened this agenda, applying a new privacy policy requiring all applications to communicate how users' personal data will be used.

In the meantime, Facebook and Google have been criticized for processing customers' data and their impact on the democratic society. Most notable is the Facebook Analytica scandal of Facebook and its potential implications for the 2016 US election.
