At the beginning of the month, fans of Dragon quest the series had the last chapter of the series, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, for PlayStation 4 and PC. But the owners of Nintendo Switch wondered what was happening with their version. And, welp, now we know.

Dragon Quest XI

This weekend, at the Tokyo Game Show, Square Enix has confirmed that Dragon Quest XI will be released on the Nintendo platform. Only now he has a new name under which he will do it.

The company confirmed that the game is now called Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S, with the creator of the Yuji Horii series, noting that the "S" had several meanings when it came to naming it. He noted that it means "Switch", "Special", "Shaberu" (speaking) and "Seiyuu" after one of the voice actors.

He also noted that the game was still well under development, and will go out for the North American and European markets. However, given the location process associated with games like this, it will take time for it to arrive. At the very least, we will not see it until next summer, if this soon.

But the wait will be worth it, as the American and European versions will also include dubbing and dashing, which were not included in the original game. Horii noted: "Even if shaberu (who speaks) will take priority … I think some players would prefer Dragon quest speechless, and we keep that in mind. Horii will be able to say more about it … "

That's right, they could always come out with a Japanese voice acting at launch, and then patch in English voice acting later for those who want it. We know a number of people who would be happy with this option.

We'll keep you posted when Square Enix confirms the release date of the game on Nintendo Switch. More than likely, we will not see any new information about this before E3 2019, even if you never know.

Meanwhile, Dragon Quest XI well worth the detour, based on the review of the game we posted. You can verify Echoes of an elusive age now for PlayStation 4 and PC.
