JB Hi-Fi has intensified competition in retail sales of Lenovo's new smart display, offering a free version of Google Home Mini to pre-order buyers by October 19th.
The retailer also pledged to apply the "lowest price guarantee" in order to lower its price, which should result in a change in costs before publication.
Lenovo's smart screens are among the first touch-screen devices that work with the Google Assistant in Australia, such as Amazon's Echo Show, JBL's Link View and Google's "Hub".
Smart Displays are available for pre-order in an 8 inch model [1280×800 resolution] for $ 299 or a 10-inch model [1920×1200 resolution] for 399 Australian dollars.
The devices are intelligent hybrid speakers with a touch screen feature, allowing users to trigger visual controls with the help of their voice.

Both models are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 1.8GHz processor, with 2GB of RAM and 4GB of storage.
Two microphones and a 10W speaker are designed to facilitate conversation / video conferencing, combined with a 5MP front camera.
For more privacy, the camera may be covered by a manual cover switch when it is not in use.
