Epic Games has announced what fans can expect from this year's second competition. Fortnite tournament season, the skirmish of autumn.
Perhaps the biggest change from Summer Skirmish, which ended a few weeks ago at PAX West, is the addition of clubs. For the fall skirmish, Epic created five clubs: Fort Knights, Lucky Llamas, Dusty Dogs, Rift Thieves and Bush Bandits. It is unclear how their lists will be determined, so it is possible that some players who are teammates elsewhere may come face to face in different clubs.
Players will team with their clubs when team or duet play modes are played. The performance of each player contributes to the ranking of their club under a system called Club Points. At the end of the fall skirmish, the club with the most points wins $ 4 million.
The tournament will be divided into six weeks of competitions – which Epic had previously announced – and will cover a variety of game types and team sizes. While the types of games themselves still remain a mystery, Epic has let us know what kind of teams we can expect for each week.
- Week 1 – Duos
- Week 2 – Solos
- Week 3 – Duos
- Week 4 – Squads
- Week 5 – Solos
- Week 6 – Twitchcon TBA
The first week will see a duet match using Epic's Hold the Throne game mode. The mode lasts six matches and awards points to rank in the top five: three points for a royal victory, two for the second or third place, one for the fourth or the fifth. Teams will also earn points for four or more eliminations: three points for eight or more, two for six to seven and one point for four or five eliminations. In addition, the team with the most eliminations at the end of each round also earns two points.
All the games from the first week of Fortnite We can see an autumn skirmish on the Fortnite The Twitch channel will be launched on Friday, September 21st.
The duo with the most points at the end of the day wins $ 67,500, the rest of the top 10 sharing the rest of the prize pool of the week. The team with the most eliminations wins $ 50,000. And any duo that ranks in the top 10 wins a significant number of Club points.
