Nintendo confirmed today on Twitter that the port of Blizzard, the most popular hack of Dashblo III, will be launched on Switch on November 2nd. The port, subtitled Eternal Collection, will include the base game with all the updates and DLC that the PC and console versions have received since their launch, including the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer extensions.
The launch of Diablo III: Eternal Collection will mark the first time in the history of the series that it will be broadcast on a Nintendo platform. His first appearance will be in a Nintendo style, with Zelda themed items as a bonus. The cosmetic items include the Legend of Ganondorf armor set, the Tri-Force portrait frames, the Cucco pets and the Echoes of the Mask wings.
Diablo III will also benefit from Switch's unique hybrid control systems. Besides the fact that the game will be fully playable in portable mode, the game will also be fully playable with a single joy-con. This unique controller compatibility lends itself well to the new local ad-hoc cooperative mode that will allow four players to fend for that good loot on a Switch console.
The Eternal collection is probably one of the "many" Diablo projects that Blizzard launched at Blizzcon this year. The future of Diablo beyond November remains to be seen, but since the launch of the base game ten years ago, it may be time to move to Diablo 4.
According to Blizzard, the title will not include cross-play, or even cross-savings. Maybe the Eternal Collection is for an audience that has not fallen in love with the Diablo series, instead of those who have fallen in love for years. Be that as it may, both groups of players will have another start or a first experience with the franchise later this fall.
