Since the hardware has been fully detailed in the "first looks" and even the "comments", there are still software features that are often in development until the very last minute before the announcement.

Less than 24 hours before the Oct. 9 event, we're now able to feature more exclusive features for the upcoming Google Pixel 3, including "Top Shot," "Photobooth," "Super Resolution Zoom," and more.

Top Shot

"Top Shot", a Pixel 3 exclusive, is one of the features of Made by Google's camera for 2018. After pressing the shutter button, the camera will capture a burst of images just before and just after. The machine learning is then used to find the best photos.

In principle, this is similar to how motion pictures record video before and after a shot. Top Shot is more selective and allows you to select the best shots thanks to machine learning. The factors taken into account by Google AI include smiles, open eyes and if the subjects are looking at the camera.

Although less intensive than video, the Top Shot feature takes steps to conserve device storage. Namely, it decreases the resolution of non-important parts of the image, with an approximately reduced quality at 3 megapixels. However, the key elements of a photo remain of a superior quality.

When available, the photo application will offer a "Smart Capture" suggestion pill. Meanwhile, users can glide over a photo to see "smart captures".

Photobooth

As we have already mentioned, the Pixel 3's double cameras are used to take better selfies. To facilitate this, a "Photobooth" function will automatically find the best photos and take the images.

Similar to the way Google Clips clips, users can perch their phone somewhere while the new mode works to automatically capture the best images. Photobooth searches for the best shots based on the current topic.

Google AI is once again used to take a photo when people smile, pull their tongue, make a funny face or wink with the Photobooth conservation alternatives that users can choose from. He also searches when everyone looks at the camera and smiles.

Zoom super res

Meanwhile, another exclusive feature of Pixel 3 is called "Super Resolution Zoom". Someone familiar with the subject described it as "about the same as the AI ​​zoom".

Although we're not quite sure about the details of these features, last year Google Brain started building an algorithm to create artificial details when you zoomed very close to a photo. .
