To go ahead, Ferrari looks back and adapts the style of its old race cars to create a series of limited edition supercars that will allow you to determine which banks you will have to rob for you to afford them.
Ferrari unveiled today the Monza SP1 and SP2 roadsters. The cars were built with collectors and hardcore fans of Ferrari. Their low, windshield-free bodies are stylistic returns to Ferrari's post-war racing cars like the 166M. The SP1 has only one seat, while the SP2 offers his outdoor experience to the driver and the passenger.
It's a new idea from the idea of a limited-race vehicle. Compared to something like the McLaren Senna, which has a variety of wacky shapes that ask you if the McLaren designers are not just engineers wearing fake mustaches, the new Ferrari roadsters are stylish and give priority to form rather than function. But it's not like there were not a lot of features, yet.

Both cars use the same powertrain, a V12 gasoline engine that produces about 800 horsepower. Both SP1 and SP2 should complete the sprint at 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, placing them in a hypercar performance territory. Part of this performance is due to the low empty weight of cars, which come from Ferrari's confidence in carbon fiber body panels. The SP1 weighs only 3,306 pounds and the additional SP2 seat adds only 45 pounds to that number.
Of course, Ferrari does not just want potential owners of SP1 and SP2 to drive these cars – they want to experience the vintage. That's why the automaker has teamed with Loro Piana and Berluti to create clothing and accessories that reject it just as much as cars. Owners will be able to stock up on running suits, helmets, scarves, gloves and shoes that complement the vintage aesthetic.
The SP1 and SP2 are just a start for Ferrari. The company says this pair is the first inclusion in a new segment that Ferrari calls Icona, which will draw inspirations from the 1950s Ferrari. We'll take them all, please.
