While we attended a short hands-on coverage of the iPhone XS and XS Max from Apple's event last week, the new devices are not yet in fashion. Now we see the first real footage of the XS while travel photographer Austin Mann got his hands on the new iPhone earlier.
Whoosh! Screen cleaner
Mann shared an exclusive look at his time with the iPhone XS and its updated camera system via PetaPixel. Powered by the new A12 Bionic chip and image signal processor, Apple claims that the iPhone XS is offering its best camera system.
New features this year include Smart HDR that increases shadows and photo detail, larger and deeper pixels for better image fidelity, improved bokeh effect with Portrait mode, and the ability to manually adjust the depth of field.
While Mann's photos highlight some of the improvements described by Apple, some focus on Apple's work. For example, Portrait mode images featuring people present great details with sharp edges for the subject. The turtle photo is a striking example of the rich details that the iPhone XS can capture. However, the portrait picture of the beer shows the fuzzy edges of the subject that the feature often produces.
