Take the week, Celine Dion. Las Vegas will host the dazzling spectacle of the Specialty Equipment Market Association Friday, and Ford will usher in extravagance on Tuesday with the latest version of its Ford GT supercar.

The flagship Ford GT Carbon 2019 series is the lightest version of Ford's high-performance halo car. It is punctuated by hectares of exposed carbon fibers, including double apparent bands, A-pillars and rocker panels. Ford will also introduce its line of trucks including eight F-150 custom vans and seven modified Ranger vans.

The GT Carbon Series comes on the market just as Ford reopens the application process for its On November 8, the award-winning Le Mans legend powered by a 647-hp twin-turbo V6, had already limited GT production to 1,000, but added 350 units to be produced by 2022.

"The Ford GT Carbon series stands out for its outstanding design, rich in carbon fiber, and on the track by its track and field," said Hermann Salenbauch, head of Ford's Performance division, who oversees the GT and D & # 39; other models with legs on the ground.

Where the former light-weight star of the Ford GT, the Competition series, denied GT daily amenities such as radio and air conditioning, the Carbon series maintained them (while losing another 40 kg) to that their owners can run hot, then cool off with AC on the return home.

"While the Ford GT Competition model appeals to racing enthusiasts, we found that more customers were demanding more exposed carbon fiber, with air conditioning and radio intact," said Lance Mosley, Advertising Manager at Ford Performance. . "So we developed the Carbon series. to satisfy this need, while offering a distinct look. "

This is not the first time that Ford has used SEMA, a large trade show featuring performance-enhancing steroids, such as supercharged engines and off-road truck kits, to showcase its muscle at the forefront of technology. At the 2008 edition, Ford introduced the F-150 Raptor, the fastest off-road pickup truck on the planet.

The $ 500,000 Ford GT is the production version of the IMSA race car that won the IMSA Weathertech GTLM Trophy this year in the Performance Division.

Featuring state-of-the-art aerodynamic technology, such as a retractable Formula 1-style keel nose and rear wing, the GT is motivated by the twin-turbo that turns a 647 horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and a maximum speed of 216 mph. .

To achieve its dietary goal, the Carbon series offers lightweight innovations such as carbon fiber wheels, titanium wheel exhausts and lug nuts and a polycarbonate hatchback. That, and Ford threw the cupholders.

If all this carbon fiber is not enough to stand out from the exclusive crowd of GT, the new edition can be embellished with mirror caps, center stripes and stirrups in four colors: silver, orange, red or blue .

Despite all the tragedies of the GT, sales in the Performance division were supercharged by Mustangs and trucks. Sales rose 70% in 2017 to more than 205,000 units worldwide. And this before Ford this year invokes two new segments with its SUV Edge ST and its small Ranger Raptor truck, the latter being available only in foreign markets. An improved F-150 Raptor will also bend later this year.

The flood of the model continues in 2019 with the expected debut of a 700 horsepower Mustang GT500, the most powerful Stang of all time, and one Explorer ST. To keep buyers salivating, Ford offers eight models of F-150 customers and seven modified Rangers.

For GT buyers, you can find your application on www.FordGT.com from November 8th.
