Fortnite: Battle Royale is finally available on Android, without invitation. Previously, the beta was by invitation only, but you can now download it for free on any Android device without waiting. Unlike most Android games, Epic does not offer Fortnite via Google Play Store, but rather on its official website. Here's how to download it.
Epic has accompanied the announcement with the recommended system specifications for your Android device in order to obtain the optimal experience. You can check the list of supported devices to make sure that yours fits the bill.
- Operating system: Android 8.0 or higher recommended, 64-bit
- RAM: 4 GB or more recommended
- GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher
It is important to connect to the official site because Epic has bypassed the Google Play store so that the application is directly distributed to users. This allows the studio to retain a greater share of its profits, but presents a risk of security problems. Avoiding the safety of a known and reputable store also increases the likelihood of confusion among unscrupulous people. More recently, questionable apps claiming to offer V-Bucks or free tips have been connected to phishing programs. For obvious reasons, make sure to install via the official website.
Fortnite is in the middle of Season 6, nicknamed "Darkness Rises," with many spooky cosmetic items to mark the occasion. Other Halloween skins also seem to be on the way.
