Last weekend the Fortnite sky cracked like a giant egg, splattered with stars. Now, smaller faults appear everywhere on the game map, and they suck everything in their path. This includes beloved landmarks like the Tomatohead mascot in Tomato Town and the Durrr Burger in Greasy Grove. Where did they go? Well, the latter has apparently been found in a real Californian desert.
Here is a clip from yesterday of Durrr Burger getting caught by a fault:
And here is where the beloved burger ended today, according to conveniently … The photographer Sela Shiloni:
"I was looking for filming locations for a future photoshoot," Shiloni on Twitter said about how he found the hamburger. "The Palmdale area has a ton of cool stuff, end of story."
So it is likely that Epic Games plants props Fortnite in real places in the hype marketing framework around the rocket Fortnite . But is Shiloni really an innocent bystander who has really stumbled on the hamburger, or is he in the gag? In one way or another, it is a true stuntman. After all, it was already quite alarming when the rifts began to mislead the motel signs and tomato people into the game, to the point that people created "ceremonies" in the game to mourn their losses. And now things are moving in a decidedly ARG-y direction.
What's next? Will the giant tomato appear in the garden of a terrified farmer? Will the motel sign appear on a different and slightly smaller motel sign? The sky (or the imagination of whoever orchestrates this) is the limit.
