Fortnite Content Update 5.40: Assault Rifle Removed, Vaulted Pistol

Epic Games has released the release notes for the Fortnite 5.40 content update. The most notable part of the update is the introduction of the rifle removed.

The new assault rifle removed will allow Battle Royale players to eliminate enemies quietly. On the official website of Epic Fortis, the weapon is supposed to reward the accuracy of quick shots. It is found in vending machines, booty, treasure chests and drops of food. It is also available in the Epic and Legendary variants. If you manage to score one of these versions, you will suffer 32/33 damage per shot.

To make room for the assault rifle removed, the drum gun was skipped, which means that it is no longer available.

In Save the World, in the meantime, field agent Rio joins the battle and there is also a new set of weekly challenges to the Horde. For these, the shields are considerably less useful because the Husks are more aggressive. You can see the full patch notes for Save the World here and have a look at the Battle Royale notes below.

Earlier today, Epic launched a separate client update for Fortnite, which dealt with a number of unspecified issues. The shutdown time began at 11 am Pacific Time (2 am / 7 am, September 11) and ended one hour later, which resulted in disturb the players as little as possible.

This week will also see the launch of Fortnite Week 10 challenges, unless there are unexpected delays. This will be the last batch of weekly challenges for season 5, so if you have not done the challenges of the previous week, you do not have much time to finish them.
