Fortnite Content Update 5.40: Vaulted Pistol, Assault Rifle Removed

It's another Tuesday for you to know what that means. Epic Games released the Fortnite Weekly update of 5.40.2 content that modifies both the Battle Royale PvP mode and the Save the World PvE game. This latest update comes just before the release of the five week 10 challenge season. The update only makes a few changes, but includes some notable changes that players will want to know about.

The Drum Gun is jumped

To begin, the Fortnite update 5.40.2 patch notes remove the controversial Drum Gun. This machine gun is the last weapon to be skipped by Epic Games alongside the jetpack and crossbow. Surprisingly, Epic Games has not given any official reason why the Drum Gun was skipped, but it's a weapon that fans have not enjoyed for a long time.

The Drum Gun was known to be very powerful both near and medium, allowing users to easily devastate their opponents. It did not help that the Drum Gun also has the advantage of quickly destroying walls and structures. Although the overpowered Drum Gun is gone, the new Deleted Assault Rifle has taken its place in Battle Royale.

The new assault rifle removed

5.40.2 Bug fixes

Save the World players can now jump onto the battlefield with the new character of Field Agent Rio. The Field Agent comes with a brand new Rook subclass that players can view. The Rio field agent arrives alongside the challenges of the Horde of Week Six, which prompt Save the World players to eliminate the Assassin Husk without having a shield.
