The functionality of the Fortnite skins did not come in season 5 and although there was some hope that this would happen as part of the new Season 6 update, the fans were finally disappointed.
Now, that does not mean that Epic does not plan to release the donation feature during Fortnite Season 6 in the coming weeks.
However, it is becoming increasingly strange that Epic has added the files related to Skin Donations to the game so long ago without doing more.
Like so many other long awaited features, like the upcoming Fortnite Twitch Prime Pack, we will have to wait patiently to find out when Epic Games intends to release these features.
Stay tuned for updates throughout Season 6 …

DELAY IN THE FORTNITE GIFTING SYSTEM
Many weeks ago, Fortnite added a gift feature to the game, but, importantly, it was not live.
Then, a few weeks later, there was another proof of the donation system put online in the Games 4.5 update that gave more clarity on the operation of the feature and the various messages embedded in the games.
A few weeks later, the Fortnite STILL donation system is not online. And unfortunately, for the moment, it is impossible to know if the game could be broadcast.
The only conclusion we can draw right now is that, in order of importance, the donation is fairly low on the list.
The Epic Games development team was / are probably focused on more important features such as the Playground V2 mode (recently added to the game) and the deployment of the Android version of Fortnite, which does not include the game. was officially announced only last week.
We believe that the gifts could be finally introduced once the Android version is fully launched, which could still take a few weeks.

FORTNITE GIFTING RELEASE IMMINENT?
The new Fortnite Donation feature from Epic Games could arrive sooner than expected, with new evidence in the latest update of games that suggest developers are launching the launch of the new feature very soon.
As mentioned earlier, the Fortnite Battle Royale donation function first appeared in Update 4.5 released on June 27, 2018 a few weeks ago.
But as the Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks Twitter account shows (@FNBRLeaks) the new update contains various new text strings that refer to the donation system.
For example, the displayed text contains various different messages that may accompany gifted objects, such as "I hope you like this gift." Good luck; have fun! "and error messages of the type" We do not find the article you want to offer (we even checked the reservation. ")."
Some messages also suggest that the currency can be used to buy gifts for other uses, with text strings indicating:
"Sorry, you do not have enough money to offer these items." There are also several cases of "V-dollars" that may suggest that the game currency will be used to buy items for gift purposes.
One of the lines also says "optional message up to 100 characters", which suggests that you might be able to leave personalized messages when donating.
Of course, all this could change significantly before it goes online, but since this is the first time that files are added to the donate feature since the first week, we could see this in the future not too far away.
Potentially, next Tuesday, with the next major update of the game in the games.
* LEAK * There are a lot of things in these pictures but let me explain
– The 1st photo contains all the strings (text) contained in the Gifting files.
– The 2nd and 3rd picture shows all assets called, including a V-Buck icon (it may be the currency used in the donation)

Original story – In Fortnite Update 4.5, players noticed that Fortnite Battle Royale offered the ability to give skins and items to other players.
This new mechanism is not yet active in the game, but thanks to players who have reviewed the data files provided with the 4.5 update, we already know a lot about the pending functionality of Battle Royale.
The new option, which is under "Account and Content", will allow Fortnite players to activate the ability to "receive gifts from third parties".
Epic has not yet revealed what this would entail, but we assume that it will let players offer their friends skins or other cosmetic items from the game.
We do not know if Epic will allow players to transfer V-Bucks or emotes to other players, but generally, in games like this, the currency is locked on accounts, so we'll have to wait.
After fans spotted Fortnite's donation feature, Epic Games confirmed that it would happen "in the future," even though the developer has not yet announced the date the feature will be removed.
In a Reddit article, Mr. Epo, an employee of Epic and Redditor, said, "The gift will come in the future."
"We do not have an exact date to share, but we will inform you once we do."
This feature seems to have been introduced behind the scenes with the 4.5 update. But at the time of writing this article, we are currently in Fortnite season 5 and the new donation feature is showing no sign of launch at the moment.
The game's most recent update is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th, but again, it does not appear that the gifting feature is apart from this particular update, at least based on patch notes .
"Check out what's new in the v5.0 content update! Available tomorrow, July 17 at 8 pm Eastern Time (1200 GMT), reads the new tweet from Epic Games.
This means that UK fans should be able to download the new game update from 13h TSB.
In a follow up tweet, the developer also reassured fans about the lack of downtime for this content update.
Full patch notes for the new content update will be revealed at 13h British time when the update is available.
Epic generally shares release notes via the Fortnite Trello board, and if it's a good idea to believe it, the new Battle Royale update will include a fix for an issue where stats are not saved correctly .
"We are studying a problem where player statistics are not always correctly reported," notes an Epic release.
Epic is also studying a problem of voice chat on PC, as well as a problem related to the lack of items in the bin. The developer also said he was looking for a problem with toilet paper and contrails from the Chinese lantern that did not appear.
