Fortnite had its biggest players in August, here's how

The popularity of Fortnite does not slow down. The game had its biggest month in August when 78.3 million people played the popular royal battle game, Epic announced. This is the highest figure of the month since the game's launch.

The massive figure has led to some problems. With so many players logging in, "that revealed the weak spots and allowed us to make targeted improvements to critical systems, such as statistics and servers," said Epic.

While nearly 80 million players are an impressive number, Fortnite is free, so theoretically accessible to anyone with a console, PC or mobile device. And more importantly, Epic did not say how much Fortnite brought from his microtransactions.

In other Fortnite news, the mysterious story of the game continued this week as the Cube sank into Lake Loot. It's apparently kind of teasing for the upcoming season 6.

Fortnite is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, as well as on mobile devices.
