The start of Season 6 of the hugely popular Fortnite: Epic's Battle Royale is fast approaching. The new season kicks off on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Mobile later this week, but to help reinforce his enthusiasm for the release of the movie, the studio has begun to launch teaser images. The first traits … a llama. Well, it's a little more complicated than that.[[[[Update: Following the model just before the start of season 5, Epic has released a second teaser of season 6. It has some similarities – the purple color scheme and the presence of the cube and the lightning – but is everything quite different.]
As he did in the run up to season 5, it seems that Epic will share a series of teaser images leading to the start of season 6. The company tweeted the first release on Monday, which probably shows a new DJ lama skin, which you can buy during season 6; in the background you can see the infamous purple cube. "All big parties need a DJ," reads the tweet. It should be noted that Fortnite's Battle Royale mode celebrates the first anniversary of its release very soon.
Epic has not yet shared many details about what to expect from season 6. The developer has recently confirmed that the new season officially starts on Thursday, September 27, but we do not know not much more than that. One thing is certain to assume, however, that Epic will offer another new Battle Pass when the season begins. The developer has released a new Battle Pass at the beginning of each season so far; These could be purchased for 950 V-Bucks and upgraded as weekly challenges to acquire new cosmetics and other rewards.
Some strange things have also happened in the game itself that signal some sort of major changes for season 6. Last month, a purple cube was materialized on the island after the desert was hit by the giant rift from The sky. The fault has since closed, and the cube began rolling slowly around the island until it headed towards Loot Lake and dips, turning the lake into purple and bouncing.
It is unclear what this means for the future of Fortnite, but every lingering question should be resolved when Season 6 begins this Thursday. In the meantime, it's your last chance to unlock the rewards of the remaining season 5. This season ends on Tuesday, September 25th, so you must finish the season 5 challenges.
