Fortnite Update adds LTM Playground and more; Release notes released

[ad_1]

Fortnite of Epic Games: Battle Royale continues to change week after week, and now the game has changed again with the release of its latest patch. The 4.5 update adds the LTM Playground (Limited Time Mode), Dual Pistols, and more on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Mobile.

Epic says that Playground is a "low-pressure environment where friends can give free rein to their creativity." It acts as a private server and lets three friends manipulate strategies in the world of Battle Royale without risking other players killing you. The storm will always be close, but not for 55 minutes after your fall in the world. There is also much more loot and ammo available than in a standard Battle Royale match.

Another LTM, Final Fight: Teams of 12, has also been added. As you can imagine, this places teams of 12 players against each other in the Battle Royale Final Combat variant, in which the storm circles stop closing halfway through the matches. After you stop compressing the game area, a countdown will begin, and the team with the most players remaining at the end of the game wins.

Update 4.5 adds a new weapon to Battle Royale and changes a whole lot more. The Dual Pistols, which deal 41-43 base damage, give you "twice as much fun and firepower" with their introduction. The pair pulls both medium ammo with a trigger pull, and can be found in loot, chests, and drops in the epic and legendary variants.

Grenade throwers are temporarily called firework launchers because they will shoot explosions of fireworks rather than standard ones so Epic Games celebrates the summer. Meanwhile, shotguns saw the amount of damage dealt to the structures significantly reduced, and the SMGs saw their accuracy and damage altered. Finally, the map markers will now give you visual indicators of the areas of interest highlighted by your teammates. Read the full notes below, via Epic Games, for more details.

In addition to publishing the latest patch, Epic has announced that Fortnite Challenge Season 5 will begin July 12th. The company has also reintroduced trolleys to Fortnite recently, after being removed due to a bug.
