ROYAL WINTER FORTNITE GAME DETAILS: Epic Games A $ 1 Million Battle Royale Event Begins Today (Pic: EPIC GAMES)
The Fortnite Winter Royale series starts this morning and $ 1 million is up for grabs.
But the best news? This is the FIRST Fortnite event open to ALL players. It means you, me and everyone in between.
Unlike what happens in a place on the other side of the world, the Winter Royale event will be over, in the game.
It is open to all players from Europe and North America. The top 200 eligible players from each region qualify for the finals next week.

Royal Winter notation
There will be three qualifying sessions per region and per day during the Winter Royale qualifying period. The highest score obtained during a single session will be counted and the best players will be listed in the highscore ranking. An eligibility survey will be sent to the top 200 entrants in each region to determine their qualification for the Winter Royale Finals.
As part of its competition testing to prepare for the Fortnite World Cup, Winter Royale will use the same game settings as the available Pop-Up Cup.
Players will be marked on the following scoring system:
- Royal Victory: +3 Points
- Top 3: +1 point
- Top 10: +1 point
- 7 eliminations: +1 point
- 5 eliminations: +1 point
- 3 eliminations: +1 point
A total of 5 points per game can be won per placement.
A total of 3 points per game can be won by eliminations.

Royal winter schedule
Europe:
- First stage: The Winter Royale qualification must start at 10:00 GMT and end at approximately 21:00 GMT on 24 and 25 November 2018 (the "European qualifying period").
- Second step: The Winter Royale Finals: The first day will start at 16:00 GMT on November 30, 2018 and will end at approximately 23:00 GMT.
- Third step: The Winter Royale Final: Day 2 is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm GMT on December 1, 2018 and end at approximately 9:00 pm GMT.
North America:
- First stage: The Winter Royale qualification must begin at 1:00 pm EST and end approximately at 12:00 am EST on November 24 and 25, 2018 (the "NA Qualifying Period").
- Second step: The Winter Royale Finals: The first day will begin at 11:00 am EST on December 11, 2018 and will end at approximately 10:00 pm EST.
- Third step: The Winter Royale Finals: Day 2 is scheduled to start at 12:00 PM EST on December 12, 2018 and close at approximately 9:00 PM EST.
Distribution of the Winter Royale Award
Epic Games has announced that the Winter Royale will give a total sum of $ 1,000,000,000.
This amount will be split between $ 500,000 for winners in Europe and another $ 500K for those in America.
However, for the moment, Epic has not indicated how they intend to split the $ 500K for each region. Although we imagine that it will be announced on the day of the tournament.
Rules of the Royal Winter
As with any Fortnite sports event, Epic Games has defined rules and rules for tournament management. Here is an overview of the rules provided by Epic Games –
To be eligible for the Winter Royale Finals, you (the "Participant") must:
- Be 16 years of age or older
