The next tournament will be the Winter Royale, which will be held at Fortniteof the tournament system in play. The Winter Royale will consist of two different stages, qualifying and final, and will be a solo event meaning that each player will participate alone. As in previous tournaments, the Winter Royale playoffs will throw players into lobbies with other players participating in the tournament and award points for things like high finals and eliminations. Players with the highest number of points at the end of qualifying will then have the opportunity to participate in the finals for part of the tournament's $ 1 million prize pool.
We do not know yet how many players will participate in the final, whether there will be a 100-player lobby for Europe and a lobby for North America, or whether there will be several lobbies will gradually shrink.
The Winter Royale is partly used as a test for future editions of Epic. Fortnite World Cup, which should start next year. The World Cup will also use the tournament system in play and will likely have a similar structure and point format as the Winter Royale.
The Winter Royale Open Qualifiers will be held November 24-25. The European finals will take place on December 30th and 1st, while those in North America will take place from December 11th to 12th. The Winter Royale will only be available in these two regions. However, Epic has announced its intention to create more tournaments for other regions, both to allow players to participate and to test its tournament system in these regions.
