Fortnitemares: Fortnite's Halloween Event Details & More

Epic Games teases Fortnitemares this weekend, an event on the theme of Halloween that is one of the ways to Fortnite.

We saw this event last year, but of course that was when the game was not as big as it is today. Last year's event brought nothing special besides changing the rocket launcher into a pumpkin launcher and giving us some skins.

Since this event, Fortnite has become a finely oiled machine that pumps weekly new updates and new cosmetics and that attracts more players every day. We expect this year's Fortnitemares event to be completely nil at last year's iteration.

Saturday morning Official Twitter account of Fortnite tweeted a teaser for the event with what appears to be lyrics or an enigma:

  • Costumes and dances,
  • Partner in place, be wise.
  • They could be friendly,
  • Or a disguised ghoul.

The fact that the first tease mentions a ghoul has led many fans to conclude that Ghoul Trooper's skin is back. We have already seen the return of the Skull Trooper so it would not be so shocking to see the Ghoul Trooper come back too.

Sunday morning another tweet came out with what seems to be more lyrics, if they are a continuation of the previous tweet remains to be seen.

  • The tombstones are shaking,
  • Keep your finger steady.
  • The circle will close,
  • Better to be ready.

The image included in the tweet some Sunday seems to indicate that this event will coincide with the runes in some way. While the first tweet showed an unknown character, the second tweet showed only one cube. A Twitter user has assembled the two images, giving the impression that they are just two pieces of the puzzle.

This image is a little suspicious because the Fortnitemares logo has gone from the top right to the top left in the image created by the fans, so it is still uncertain that the images are really puzzle pieces.

If these images end up being a puzzle, we still have at least two days left after the puzzle ends and the beginning of the event. We do not have many days left in October, so if it's a Halloween party, it will have to start fairly quickly.

Epic Games usually lets down those kind of teasers before the start of a new season, but it seems like they decided to do it for an event this time around.

As for what to really expect from the Fortnitemares event? Epic Games has remained quiet in this regard, but we will certainly know more in the near future if these daily tweets follow one another.

We expect to see the return of the pumpkin rocket launcher at the very least. We can probably expect to see more Halloween skins and perhaps a Halloween-themed map overhaul, in the same vein as how Christmas was handled by Fortnite.
