Throughout the month of October, Epic Games seizes the opportunity to fall into the spirit of dread by opening a Halloween event in the growing community of Fortnite. The Halloween festivities will begin tomorrow.
The Twitter account gives some clues about what players can expect from the Fortnitemares event, which will highlight lightning across the map. Yes, every time you get a "win" (which, I guess, will be when you kill another player), there will be a flash to highlight the win. I imagine that means that the card will be kept overnight during the event so that all flash shtick can stand out and illuminate the card.
There are no other details about this event, but players are already starting to feel good by unveiling the Skull Trooper, which recently debuted at Fortnite, as well as the skins of gruesome soldiers that Epic Games added to the third-person shooter some time ago.
According to Gamespot, the Fortnitemares event will allow players to win special rewards. These rewards will likely be available in both Battle Royale and PvE Save The World modes. And, speaking of the Save The World mode … just by connecting to the game, you will get special skins that you can use for the characters. You do not even have to fight, kill anything or build anything … just log in to the game and you'll get the presents.
Additional teasing suggests even more costumes that players will be able to acquire throughout the event, which runs from October 24 to Monday, November 26. It's a long enough time for a Halloween event, huh? Usually, most companies organize events in early October and last until the beginning of November, but I guess Epic decided to do things a little differently.
The Fortnitemares update will also come with a little downtime and maintenance in anticipation of the launch of version 6.20.
Version 6.20 will also feature more spooky themes around Halloween, some of which are rather jovial, others a little more serious. Epic seems to be trying to provide players with enough variety to keep all sorts of Fortnite the players have entertained.
And, even though season 6 has just begun, some players are already eagerly awaiting what will happen in season 7. The Fortnitemare event should help give players and the rest of the community an idea of what to what to expect. update.
Battle Royale mode for Fortnite is free, so if you want to check out the new skins, you can do it by catching the client and waiting for the event to start on October 24th.
