Finally. Finally, The Fortnite cube could actually show us what's inside. Epic has just announced that players should try to play a game on November 4 at 1 pm Eastern Time, to see the end of Fortnitemares and the start of the sequel. Some similar events in the game have marked the gradual transition between seasons, the most notable being a live rocket launch that broke a hole in the space-time continuum. Yes, Fortnite becomes difficult to describe.
I speculate, but I would be surprised that Kevin the Cube did not explode and scattered on the map next Sunday, while the event and the end of Fortnitemares are planned.
Fortnitemares in Battle Royale ends on Sunday, November 4 at 1 pm ET / 6 pm UTC. Complete your Fortnitemares challenges by then to unlock the Dark Engine Glider. Log in early and be in match to attend the one-time event that starts at 1:00 pm / 6 pm UTC. pic.twitter.com/6lBVC4REySOctober 31, 2018
A bullshit cube recap:
- Cube is summoned by lightning
- The cube moves around the map, printing runes
- The cube melts in the loot lake
- Cube lifts the house in the center of the lake, becomes a floating island
- The island Cube visits all the runes and cuts them in juice
- The island Cube returns to Lake Loot
- Runes float towards Cube Island
- Cube Island sucks juice out of runes
- The cube island explodes
- ???
- Zombies!
Although I'm tired of cube stuff, I'm glad zombies are not the last thing in the cube. The players had mixed reactions to the addition of cubic monsters, and even though I think all the opponents are cowardly, the probable start of the purple shake with the Fortnitemares event will be welcome, provided that Epic plants a flag and modifies or adds something surprising. A quick look at Twitter or the subdirectory confirms that Kevin's time is up. Most Fortnite players may agree that if the cube started as a captivating mystery, its multiple hikes on the map, in various forms, became tired.
The cube is also tired, it seems, and cracks appear all over the surface since the beginning of Fortnitemares. Sunday will likely see the end of the cube era and pave the way for the seventh season. Time flies when a cube does things forever.
You can bet I'll be there to see everything, whether it's via a live program or a recap with a video after Kevin has eaten it, assuming Kevin has eaten it. Please eat, Kevin.
