Epic Games makes massive changes in the user interface and switches from Save the World's "Fortnite" campaign mode to a detailed system, which detailed these changes in a long post published Monday on his blog.

These edits are all part of Epic Games' plan to turn Save the World into a free title. But this version will not be available until next year.

"Save the World has grown steadily since our launch in July 2017 and" Fortnite "has seen unprecedented growth overall," said Epic. "The intensification for the legions of heroes who will join the fight is essential to provide an excellent experience. This applies to all our players, old and new, so we take the time to do things right. "

So, what can players expect when the 6.30 update arrives? Epic said its goal was to update the front-end system. He wants the user interface to be easier to understand and navigate, while leaving room for development. He also wants the front end to have more life and character. To this end, he created a new "Homebase" menu consisting of the characters encountered by the players during the campaign.

The new Order tab provides an overview of a player's account progress and serves as a hub for the variety of options available throughout the campaign. There is also a new character, The Major, who will help train the heroes of Save the World and give access to defenders, expeditions and hero transfers.

The Survivors screen is where players will find another new character called the director. It helps manage all squads and survivors, said Epic. Meanwhile, a new feature called Autofill ensures that survivors with the greatest power are always inserted into a team.

Gadgets and other tools are managed in the upgrade room, which is supervised by a robotic assistant named Kevin. Here, players can spend upgrade points to upgrade gadgets and utility options. The research lab is where the scientist Lars spends his time and this is where players spend research points on F.O.R.T. Statistics. Epic added that it also introduced bonus counters that provide additional statistics when they are filled.

The Armory is still the place to go to manage diagrams, objects, and resources, but it is now handled by Blacksmith Clip. Players will unlock it as they advance in the campaign, said Epic.

Finally, the Quest tab is now the first in the user interface and displays the campaign and event quest cards. Epic has moved the Play now button to the bottom of the screen and the quest log is now accessible via a large button located just below. This makes it instantly accessible from campaign and event quest cards.

Epic added that it also improves the experience of new players. "Previously, we used many quests with UI-based objectives to explain the new features, but they were often hard to notice and were not as effective as they could be. to be, "he said. "Quest-driven user interface tutorials have been replaced by contextual and quick explanations of key features as they are unlocked."

Since the redesign that removes the old search tree and skills from the game, Epic said it offered existing players a way to reset the new tabs of the research and research labs repeatedly, long enough to fully understand things.
