Pokemon Go Players will be able to dramatically increase their pokedex this week, while Niantic has confirmed the arrival of the fourth generation pokemon. This generation appeared for the first time in Nintendo DS games Diamond Pokémon, pearl, and Platinumand come from the Sinnoh region influenced by Hokkaido.
As for the third generation, Niantic will deploy the new pokemon in waves rather than all at once. The company has announced that it will soon announce new features and pokemon storage expansion. Meanwhile, a handful of Generation 3 – and even Generation 2 – Pokémon have yet to be added to the game, mainly because of the unique features Niantic needs to understand to integrate.
While the hype prevailing at its launch has faded predictably, Pokemon Go remains a phenomenally successful mobile game by any other measure, and continues to add features to attract new players and extract more money from the existing base. Recently, the game finally allowed the trade, while this week only the Android version was getting support for more advanced ARs via Google's ARCore SDK. Next month Pokémon: let's go will be released for the Nintendo switch, featuring heavy integration with Pokemon Go.
