Garmin Fenix 5 Plus smart watches now support Spotify, allowing users to read offline playlists directly from the notebook. The new feature removes the burden of smartphones, an advantage for athletes who want to listen to music without their device weighing them down. The new feature, however, has the disadvantage that you must be a Premium Subscriber to receive support.
Thanks to the new support, Garmin Fenix 5 Plus watch owners with a Spotify Premium subscription can store their favorite offline music on the smartwatch. This offline music is then available for playback at any time in the absence of a smartphone, for example during a race, when working in the garden or at any other time when leaving a phone is annoying.
Garmin revealed the new support offered at an event today. This feature requires the Spotify Premium client to create a playlist and then sync it with its Garmin smartwatch, assuming it is a compatible model with the new media. The synchronization is done by WiFi. Once synchronized, users open the Spotify app on their smartwatch to access, play, and control music.
The Garmin Fenix 5 Plus is a range of sporty and costly smartwatches incorporating GPS, heart rate monitoring and color maps. The model supports Bluetooth headsets, which customers will obviously need to connect to the watch to read their Spotify playlists. According to Garmin, it is possible to store up to 500 songs on watches and up to 8 hours of autonomy with music.
