Fortnite Season 5 is here, and there is already an assortment of challenges for players to complete. Just like last season, completing all the tasks of a week will complete a corresponding Road Trip challenge – the equivalent of the Blockbuster challenges of season 5. These, in turn, will reward you with a screen of Special loading, each containing a subtle hint leading you to a free Battle Pass level somewhere around the island.
Clear a series of challenges will unlock the first special loading screen, which features a group of characters at the top of a grassy hill near the giant Durr Burger. Two seem to pose for a photo while another looks at a map of Lazy Links, the new golf course introduced in Season 5. You can see the loading screen for yourself below.
The clue on this screen is located near the center of the golf course map, which includes a large mine-shaped umbrella housing a Battle Star icon. The mine can be found towards the western boundary of Lazy Links, which is itself located in the northern part of the island. Just head to this area and you will find the Battle Star waiting to be recovered.
Battle Star Gathering will rank your Battle Pass one level, making it an easy way to unlock additional rewards. You can see a more detailed guide on where to find the battle star in the video above. However, be aware that you can only find the battle star if you complete the corresponding Road Trip challenge and unlock the loading screen; you can not just go to the designated place and collect it if you have not done the previous steps.
Unlike previous seasons, the challenges of season 5 are divided into two categories. Free challenges are available for all Fortnite players: Battle Royale, while Battle Pass challenges can only be scored by those who purchased the Battle Pass.
