Call Screen responds to incoming calls, asks the person for more information and gives options throughout the filtering process for better call management. All the experience is well done, impressive and easy to use.

How to use it

Every time your pixel ($ 379 at Amazon) sounds, you will see the standard call interface, but with a new Screen Call button. You do not need to enable the feature – it is enabled by default. Press the button to immediately answer the call and ask the Google assistant to start talking to the caller. The start script of the call is always the same. Google will let the caller know that you are using a filtering service, which will provide you with a transcript of the call and ask him to indicate the reason for the call.

Once the caller has started speaking, a transcript of his answer will appear on the screen of your phone in real time. Just below the transcript, you will find a series of buttons allowing you to ask other questions to the caller, to let him know that you are busy, not to be interested or to ask to be called later.

If the call is a lawyer or spam, you can report it as such and Google terminates the call. If you want to talk to someone, press the green answer button and start talking.

All experience is incredibly successful, impressive and easy to use.

You can change the voice used for Call Screen from the default female voice to a male voice.

Open the Phone application, tap the menu button, and then tap Settings. At the bottom of the options will be the call screen. To select Call screen then Voice. After listening to a preview of each voice, select the one you want to use, and then remove the settings.

Privacy first and foremost

Call Screen uses Google Assistant to monitor the call. Just as Assistant transcribes your requests in real time, it also transcribes incoming calls. No information is sent to Google's servers at any point in the call; everything is processed on your phone.

Whenever you turn to Google Assistant for tasks such as sending a message or playing music, Google records an audio recording on your Google Account.

Google does not link or store Call Screen related audio or transcripts in your Google Account. You can see the list of interactions and listen to the audio of each of them here.) I've looked at my history and I can not find any instances of Call Screen used.

Come to more phones

Currently, Call Screen is only available on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Google announced that Call Screen would reach older Pixel devices via a software update in November.
