Ahead of its Oct. 9 Pixel event, Google says its tiny smart speaker will be available in an aqua tone at some point ‘later this month.’

Fans of pastel colors are going to love the latest Google Home Mini shade.

The $49 smart speaker will be available in an aqua tone via the Google Store and Walmart online at some point “later this month.”

“Blue: the color of ocean waves, the bright sky, sapphires and now … our latest Google Home Mini,” Google Design Director for home, wearables, and CMF Isabelle Olson wrote in a Tuesday blog post. “It’s made from the same fabric as the Mini’s original colors… with the same aesthetic goal, to easily blend into your home.”

This is the first new color Google has added since launching the device last year. It also comes in a light gray “chalk” color, a darker gray called “charcoal,” and a coral shade.

The Google Home Mini earned a “good” rating in PCMag’s review. We praised its wallet-friendly price tag, design, and sound quality compared to Amazon’s Echo Dot.

The announcement of this new color comes just days before Google’s big Pixel event, which takes place Oct. 9 in New York. A Pixel 3 promo page discovered last month hints that Google is planning to launch the upcoming Android Pie smartphone in three color options: black, white, and a mint shade similar to the new aqua Home Mini.

Last year’s Pixel 2 came in black, white, and a pale “kinda blue” shade. The original Pixel came in silver, black, and a bold “really blue” shade. Other rumors indicate that the Pixel 3 will be notch-less, but its larger sibling, the Pixel 3 XL, will have a sizeable display cutout.

But there are also rumors about new smart displays, including an Echo Show-like Google Home Hub.

Google’s event begins at 11 a.m. ET; PCMag will be there, so stay tuned for all the news.
