"Composite actions make it easy to add attachments, references, or ambience to your messages with the content of your favorite third-party applications as soon as you write your message in Gmail," writes Aakash Sahney, Product Manager. Google for Gmail and Chat in a blog post announcing the new feature.
You start by connecting the service of your choice in G Suite with the help of the additional Gmail tool. Google has created Gmail add-ons to simplify the integration of these third-party tools into the Gmail workflow. Once you have authorized the tool, it will appear as an option in your compose window, giving you direct access to the content without leaving Gmail. G Suite administrators can create a list of allowed applications if they want to limit integrations to authorized services.
If you want to embed a file or folder from Box, Dropbox or Egnyte, allow the application, then click on the composition action that appears in the compose window of the email to access the service and extract a file.

It may not seem like much, but it is all about reducing keyboard strikes and actions that tend to add up in terms of time spent in a day. Instead of opening the service of your content provider, search or search the content, copy it and then paste it into the email, you can simply click on the action of composition and access the service directly from Gmail.
Compose shares were first announced at the Google Cloud Next conference in July. They are available to G Suite subscribers starting today.
