Google has been testing for some time the parking features in Google Maps because parking is obviously a crucial part of any driving experience and navigation. But it seems that Google is deploying automatic parking suggestions for a larger number of users. So do not be surprised to find the feature on the next navigation plot.
The operation of the feature is also very interesting. By Android fontGoogle Maps now offers you to include a stop on your route for recommended parking locations. Unless you act quickly, the prompt will disappear and you will have to wait for a new one.
What's also interesting is that there is no way to enable or disable the new feature yet, and you do not have to update your app to get it. It's just sitting there, waiting to be discovered – and apparently, these are boring pilots who use course-sharing apps like Lyft.
This feature builds on previous Google Maps parking features. Initially, Google Maps would inform users of the parking situation at your destination. The feature only covered a handful of cities early, before expanding to other regions. Each time, however, Google explained the new improvements to parking applications.
This time, the suggestions for automatic parking seem to have appeared automatically on phones without warning. Of course, the more you use Google Maps, the more likely you are to notice and take advantage of it. You must be on a relatively new version of Google Maps to access the feature, preferably the most recent. In addition, the Android version seems more likely to offer parking solutions, but users also reported seeing the notification appear on their iPhone. It's a little strange that Google did not announce the new feature or mentioned it in the release notes, but it's still something that many people will find useful.
