In short: iFixit has just confirmed that the Google Pixel 3 includes a panel of LG Display, not Samsung, but rather a newer version of the OLED panel used by Google in the Pixel 2 XL. iFixit had released a disassembly of Pixel 3 XL quite recently, and thanks to that, we discovered that Samsung was providing its screens for this device. Well, it seems like LG has chosen to take the continuous panels to look at the OLED panels here, of course, as both devices are wearing them, even if they are different in terms of resolution.
Context: The Google Pixel 3 is the smaller of the two Pixel devices. It comes with a 5.5-inch OLED display and FullHD + display resolution (2160 x 1080). The largest Pixel 3 phone, the Pixel 3 XL, comes with a 6.3 inch QHD + (2960 x 1440) OLED panel. iFixit was able to see that the screen of the Pixel 3 XL was referring to the same Samsung DDIC that used in the Galaxy S9, which is interesting, while the Samsung scanner is also used in this phone. As many of you already know, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been introduced quite recently. The headlines have been (and still are) preoccupied with the unattractive notch of the Pixel 3 XL. Unlike the Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 XL has a screen screen and a relatively high screen screen, the highest in the world, at least for consumer smartphones. To tell the truth, this notch is not too broad, but it is compensated by its height. Google has managed to insert two cameras inside the notch, in addition to a headset and one of the speakers located at the front of the phone. So that's one reason, at least.

It is encouraging to see that Google has learned the lesson in screens because both Pixel phones now have really convincing screens, at least in the beginning. It's worth noting, though, that Google has chosen to get Samsung and LG screens for its Pixel phones, instead of going for a single OEM, but many companies have done something similar, and that's it.
