Probably not. But a software bug on the Google Pixel 3 XL places an extra notch on the smartphone screen, whether you like it or not.
The owners of the smartphone have been tweeting outside pictures of the hilarious virus from last week. For some reason, the phone will display a virtual notch on the side of the phone, obscuring part of the screen.
The owners who encountered the bug said that it appeared randomly, with no apparent trigger. However, the error can be easily corrected either by restarting or by rotating the phone.
Fortunately, the bug does not seem to be widespread. Google also told PCMag that a patch was on the way. But the company refrained from explaining what was causing the bug. Users speculate that the problem has something to do with the automatic rotation function of the phone and the software displaying the virtual notch by mistake.
Anyway, the internet has been filled with jokes about this strange bug. "Introducing Pixel Ultra with 2 clicks," wrote a user on Reddit. "Get Pixel 3 now and we'll include an extra slot for free," wrote another.

However, the phone has a thick notch, which contains the cameras, the speaker, and the front-facing sensors. The good news is that you can hide the existing notch by hiding the top of the screen. You can do this by consulting the phone's development options for the Android operating system.
