Google Pixel 3 XL is on sale in Hong Kong, a few days before its announcement

What has just happened? WahPhone Digital, a technology store in Hong Kong, sells a 3 XL pixel at $ 2030. Although there are still two or three days left before his announcement in New York, Richard Lai of Engadget borrowed the device and did a tour (…) without actually learning anything.

The resolution of the cameras (12.2 MP for the main camera and 8 MP for selfie cameras) and the fact that the second selfie camera has a wide angle lens are the only new details that have not yet been disclosed. Lai was also able to check if the phone had a 6.3 "1440 x 2960 display, 4 GB of RAM and the same Active Edge technology as the previous Pixel phones.

Although none of this is unexpected or particularly exciting, he praised the phone, explaining that it was "solid and well built" and that he appreciated the ease with which the screen could see in bright sunlight. It seems to be an OLED panel, but we still do not know if Google has provided it to LG, as for the Pixel 2 XL or Samsung, as for the standard Pixel 2.

Lai's unit was actually intended for Australia, delivered with an 18W Australian wall charger (God knows how that ends in a Hong Kong store). Also in the box were USB-C headphones, USB-C to Audio Jack adapter, USB-C cable and USB-C to USB-A cable.

Overall, the phone seems to be a nice phone with the same Snapdragon 845 as all the other flagship Android products. The camera will probably stand out from the competition given the quality of the Pixel 2 camera and the giant notch at the top of the screen. Lai suspects that Google will have some software surprises to wait until October 9thPersonally, I find it hard to believe that Lai would not have already discovered them.
