Nowadays, all phones have leaks (often very many) before their official publication, but it is rare that we see complete reviews of new phones online a few days before they were announced. That's what happened on Friday, as Unwire has released a detailed analysis of the Pixel 3 XL, including pictures of the phone, screenshots of the screen, a detail of specifications and examples of photos taken with the phone.
Between the raw translation provided by Google Translate and the fact that the reviewer has not received the detailed information usually provided with a replay unit, we need to re-read with a grain of salt. That said, there are some interesting details to note (as well as pictures of the camera from all angles).
Before arriving at the examination, it should be noted that Unwire also unpacked the Pixel 3 XL and took pictures of the process. The Pixel 3 XL box contains a charger, a USB-A adapter, a 3.5mm USB-C headset adapter and a pair of USB-C flip-flops, a novelty not included in the Pixel 2. box.
Let's go to the exam, Unwire is generally positive, claiming that the increased size (from 6 inches to 6.3 inches) does not make the phone harder to hold, that the OLED display is "good", that the dual-lens front camera is impressive and that fast support for wireless charging has been added.
As Unwire points out that the Pixel 3 XL does not completely change the game, but it allows Google to become familiar with many other manufacturers of Android phones. We'll know more about the phone when Google comes on the scene at its press event next Tuesday – an event we've already started to speculate on.
