The Google AI Call filtering feature, bundled with Pixel 3 at launch and currently on older Pixel phones, will soon benefit from transcription support, according to a report. 9to5Google. This feature, which allows Google Assistant to detect suspected spam calls before allowing users to decide which they wish to respond to, will back up phone call transcripts later this year.

At this time, when Google Assistant responds to a spam call, users can view the transcripts only in real time, as the conversation progresses. Once the call is over, there is no way for a user to resume the conversation. A Call Screen Product Manager on the Google Support Forums confirmed last week that the feature would be launched later this year and that the transcripts would be automatically recorded in the call log once the call ended, in the section Call details. Public beta testers from the Google Phone app can access the feature first. Otherwise, the feature will be available to Pixel 3 users by the end of this year.

The Call Screen feature is being deployed on Pixel 2 and 2 XL phones, as well as on the rest of the Pixel family. Once on your phone, you have nothing to do to activate the feature. Sit down and watch robots talking to robots.
