Lego's open-back helmet manufacturer, Grado, is taking over its classic design with the first wireless headset from the small Brooklyn company.
The GW100s have a familiar look but incorporate volume controls and Bluetooth technology. They go for $ 249.
Grado Headphones are one of my favorites, they have a very open sound that really resonates and are perfect for listening at home. Previous iterations have been less successful on the road or in noisy offices, as they tend to let in a lot of outside noise and spread a lot of your songs. The company says it has redesigned the GW100's housings and internal components to reduce noise leakage by 60%, without creating wooden cases known for this design.
Part of the story behind the Grado earphones is their charm: we visited the company's small headquarters in Brooklyn a few years ago and looked at their activities, really cool things.
It is difficult for a company to stand out from the game of the brand. While audio technology generally has a much longer life span than other products, it's still time to adapt, especially now that more and more hardware manufacturers are draining the headphone jacks of their devices.
In recent years, the company has developed products more compatible with mobile devices, but the magic did not exist. The wireless GW100s keep the same drivers of the company, but it will be interesting to hear their sound, because the company optimizes them for a more "mobile" listening. Speaking of which, they also seem to have a slightly more robust design than some of the more spartan headbands in the company that were strangely part of the call, but are certainly welcome for something more likely to be thrown into a backpack.
