Guild Wars 2 loses two authors after Twitter kerfuffle with the content creator.
ArenaNet has announced the departure of two of its Guild Wars 2 writers – Jessica Price and Peter Fries – after being involved in a Twitter to do with YouTuber and Twitch Streamer, Deroir, which is a Guild Wars 2 content creator partner via the ArenaNet content creation program
PC Gamer reports that the writer, Jessica Price, has created a Twitter thread on the theme of the characters of writing in the MMOs against solo games, saying that it is easier to write characters "convincing" in the latter because they are rounded characters as opposed to the avatars that each player customizes.
Deroir responded to the thread suggesting that branching dialogue options might be a way to allow players to "express their character significantly".
Today being a female dev game:
"Let me – a person who does not work with you – explain to you how you do your job." https://t.co/lmK0yJWqGB

Deroir has already been excused and had apologized for second time ] after which Price received criticism on how she handled the interaction, with a number of people suggesting that the gender issue was not necessary. The feeling was taken up in the subreddit.
Peter Fries, co-author of Price in Guild Wars 2, launched the debate on Twitter – the tweets were removed but nothing has ever really happened on the internet "Since the hubbub , ArenaNet's president, Mike O 'Brien, announced that Price and Fries were no longer at the studio. "
"Recently, two of our employees failed our communication standards with the players, their attacks on the community were unacceptable and, as a result, they are no longer with the company."
"I want to be clear that the statements that they did not reflect at all the opinions of ArenaNet. As a company, we always strive to have a collaborative relationship with the Guild Wars community. We appreciate your contribution. We make this game for you. "
