Hands-on practice with Apple's new iPhone XS Max 6.5-inch

It's officially the launch day of the iPhone, which means that the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models are found in Apple stores and have been delivered to customers around the world. The first pre-orders began arriving this morning in the United States and millions of customers now have the new devices.

We got our hands on one of the new iPhone XS Max models this morning to check out the huge new screen, the new 6.5-inch size, the camera improvements and the faster interior.

The screen of the iPhone XS Max measures 6.5 inches and features the largest screen ever introduced by Apple. From a size point of view, the iPhone XS Max is a bit bigger than the iPhone X and XS, but its size is smaller than that of the iPhone 8 Plus despite a larger screen . It is bigger than the iPhone X and smaller than the latest Galaxy phone.

Although large, the iPhone XS Max is surprisingly lightweight in the hand, perhaps because of its slender body of 7.7mm and its intelligent weight distribution. The bigger screen looks amazing, as it should not be surprising, and it's amazing for watching videos, looking at photos or playing video games.

The face ID is slightly faster on the iPhone XS Max thanks to the improved A12 Bionic chip and neural engine, and the camera, though using the same 12-megapixel dual-lens system as the iPhone X, brings internal improvements.

The A12 processor is 15% faster than the A11 processor, which is not noticeable, but its life is much better. iPhone XS Max lasts an hour and a half longer than the iPhone X.

Many Apple stores have had the stock of iPhone XS and XS Max available for walk-in shopping this morning, and stocks should be replenished regularly. Orders placed today on the site will not be shipped until October, so the store is your best bet if you do not pre-order.
