Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Trailer Teases New Pokemon Go Dev Game

Last year, Niantic, developer of Pokemon Go, announced that he was working on a new mobile game based on the Harry Potter world and entitled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. Since then, the studio has communicated very little about the mysterious project, but we got a first glimpse of it thanks to a new trailer.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, co-developed by WB Games, uses augmented reality and offers a game mechanism similar to that of Pokemon Go. Depending on the studio, players will have to explore the real world to "unravel a global mystery, launch spells and meet fantastic beasts and iconic characters along the way. "

The trailer, which you can view above, does not present any actual game sequence, but rather illustrates the experience of playing the game. Before disappearing, she casts a spell that leaves a poster on the wall, warning that "the wizarding world is at risk of being exposed".

Beyond that, though, we still do not know much about Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. When it announced the title for the first time, Niantic announced that the game "will pioneer all new technologies and gaming mechanisms" and will take advantage of its complete AR platform. "Players will learn spells, explore their real-world neighborhoods and cities to discover and fight legendary beasts, and team up with others to defeat powerful enemies," the developer writes in his release.

Niantic and WB have not yet announced release dates for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. The game was originally scheduled to be launched in 2018, but as the trailer has shown, it was postponed until 2019.

Wizards Unite is not the only new Niantic game. The studio recently launched Ingress Prime, a revamped version of the original Ingress. Niantic also continues to roll out regular updates for Pokemon Go; he recently introduced a new Adventure Sync feature, which allows the game to track the distance you've traveled even when it's inactive.
