Unlike previous years, smaller and larger iPhones both have the same parity. Everything is in the other, less the big screen and the battery life slightly extended.
So, let's move on to our new favorite features.
Gold finish
We are a little divided on the traditional yellow gold, but the implementation of Apple has conquered us. It is a more subtle gold shade that looks fantastic, with a broken white glass panel at the back.
Better still, it fits perfectly to the new Apple Watch Series 4 in stainless steel gold.
6.5 inch screen
This year marks the largest screen ever included on an iPhone, the iPhone XS Max reaching 6.5 inches. Even though the phone is almost the same physical size as all older devices, ranging from the iPhone 6 Plus, the display is now completely parallel.
Compared to the 8 Plus and previous models, the frame is shiny stainless steel instead of aluminum, which offers a bit more grip.
Live wallpapers
There are three new live wallpapers on the XS and XS Max. You may know them if you have seen one of Apple's recent announcements.
Each of the three has a slightly different hue. Although they look like planets, they are rather mixtures of vivid paint swirls.
Faster wireless charging
Instead of increasing the power supported by wireless charging, Apple has improved technology already implemented.
The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have narrower coils internally that will support faster and more efficient wireless charging on existing 7.5W chargers. Best of all, you do not need to upgrade the Qi charger you already need to enjoy.
Enhanced cameras
We will not explore all the latest news with the latest cameras, so we will discuss our favorite improvements.
First, with newer, larger pixels with increased depth, low-light performance is better. Secondly, thanks to the new ISP and the Neural Engine, the color representation is more accurate, Portrait mode locks faster and looks better than ever before.
The depth can also be adjusted on photos, increasing and decreasing the amount of background blur.
4 GB of RAM
From the 3GB of RAM in this iPhone X and XR, iPhone XS and XS Max both have 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. This is useful throughout the operating system, but especially when many web pages are open or you are constantly switching between applications.
Gigabit class LTE
This feature will depend entirely on your location and your carrier, but we have seen significant improvements in our cellular performance.
On the outside, two new antenna strips, one at the top and one at the bottom, help support this new Gigabit class LTE with MIMO 4×4. These new devices also support T-Mobile's 71 band spectrum, which will be used by rural users.
More to like
These are just our main features. This does not include new speakers, the faster A12 Bionic processor, more robust water resistance, stereo video recording, and other improvements to iPhone XS and XS Max.
