We already know everything there is to know about future Google Pixel 3 smartphones, but there is still much to learn about what the company brings to its October 9th event. We keep an eye on a device known as "Pixel Stand" for some time and, during a new disassembly, we discovered a first possible preview of the product.
The best gifts for Android users
We will dive deeper into the latest version of the Google app, v8.22, in an upcoming APK Insight post. First thing we managed to spot in this disassembly was a first look at the Pixel Stand. A brief animation of the application that is currently hidden from the consumer's view shows a phone on a dock browsing a slideshow of images.
Obviously, this first brief overview of the product does not show an exact representation of the product or the Google phone, but it gives us some details. On the one hand, this dock will probably work when the phone is in portrait orientation. This aligns with the screenshots that were previously shown showing the wizard interface when the phone uses this accessory. The animation also suggests that Google will include some kind of slideshow function, probably similar to Google Photos' "Photo Frame" feature on smart screens.
Of course, we expect the Pixel Stand to be a wireless charging accessory, so it is unlikely that a USB-C connector will be hidden here. Rather, it seems like a small piece of the wharf is getting up to keep the phone upright.
Google will unveil its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones on October 9 at a New York-based event. The Pixel Stand accessory should work with both devices.
