Android 9 Pie has been out for a little over a month so far, but apart from Google, OnePlus and Essential, there have not been many updates. This week, we have our first look at the Samsung Pie on the Galaxy S9 +, and everything has changed …

Expected on the Galaxy S9 +, a newer version of Samsung's take on Android 9 Pie leaked XDA developers. This version is far from complete and still has major bugs, but it gives us a very good idea of what Samsung plans to bring. Pie will also bring Samsung Experience 10 to the company's devices.
At first glance this update, there are a ton of significant changes in the overall user interface. Obviously, the changes made by Google to Android 9 Pie and Material Theme in general have been very inspiring. Rounded elements dominate the interface, especially in the settings menu. Personally, I think that looks really bad, but a lot of that is the theme of the unfinished night. according to XDA, which can not be disabled in this version.
A very noticeable change in this version is also the recent menu. What Samsung takes on this menu adopts some elements of Google's version of Android 9 Pie, but visually has a look closer to "Good Lock". On a standard version of Pie, you must drag to the end of the list to access this option.

Interestingly, Samsung also seems to have added a series of gestures to Android 9 Pie. These are not the same as those used by Google on Pixel devices, but are closer to those used by OnePlus. When enabled, a center sweep returns home, a left third screen sweep returns and a right third sweep opens the recents menu. It's a pretty simple implementation, but I see that some users like it.
This update also updates the user interface of many of Samsung's built-in applications. This includes the dialer, Bixby, the camera app, Samsung Messages and many others. The galleries below show the changes present.

Although this version of Pie is one of the first versions of the Galaxy S9 +, it will certainly be a decisive change for users. As a note, XDA developers has also released a guide on how to install this preview on your Galaxy S9 + as long as it has a Snapdragon chipset. Since this is an initial release, there are still many problems, so try it at your own risk. Obviously, we do not have a clear release date for Android 9 Pie on Samsung devices, but this interface is more than likely a preview of what will be on the Galaxy S10.
