Having already created the Xbox Onesie and a pop-up gaming hotel, the Xbox Australia team is back with another wacky Xbox product. Xbox Australia has announced a Xbox One "fat-resistant" controller with a "special coating resistant to grease and oil".
Xbox Australia has commissioned the controller to celebrate the launch of PUBG on Xbox One in its 1.0 status this week, out of Xbox Preview and a full version. What is the connection? Winning a PUBG match gives you a chicken dinner; chicken (can be) greasy, so that's it.
The controller uses PUBG brand colors and is sprayed by hand with a urethane coating that, according to Xbox, is "impervious to minor scratches, water and, of course, roasted chicken fat" . As David Milner, the gaming informant, emphasizes, the urethane coating makes the controller fatter.
Each controller is individually numbered and only 200 are created globally. You can visit the Xbox ANZ Facebook page to learn how to win one.
This is not the first PUBG promotion of Xbox Australia. At the beginning of the year, the company abandoned real PUBG funds in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
