Another week, another loading screen to decipher in Fortnite, this one being one of the coolest ones I’ve seen to date. We have Calamity and Deadfire shooting down a whole bunch of cube monsters before they disappear once this event wraps in a few weeks, but hidden is a secret banner that players can get once they’ve completed all the (somewhat annoying) challenges for season 6, week 6.
So, where is the banner this time around? If you zoom in you can see that something is etched on the tree to the left there:
I got confused for a minute because I thought the banner might be in front of one of the twisted trees in the many corrupted sites on the map, then I remember that these etchings show you where the banner actually is.
Maybe you can’t make it out, but this is showing us that the banner is hidden by the giant car monster on the map. You may not have seen this guy for a while, but here’s where he’s located on the map, near the race track east of Retail Row:
The car monster has found new relevance recently as a location of one of the flaming hoops you have to jump through for a week 5 challenge, but it appears he’s also hiding a battle star.
I have not beaten all the challenges yet, so I’m not sure whether the banner is between his legs, on his back or in his hand yet. I’m going to do some investigating and report back, but those seem like the most likely locations it would be. It may require some building to get up there, as I don’t think you’ll be able to grab it while sailing through the air on an ATK or Quadcrasher.
I kind of miss the days when every week gave out a free battle star, but some of these banners have been pretty cool, and I guess it’s something permanent while battle stars are more fleeting. Next week will be another battle star to help get your tiers up, but season 6 has seen a constant alternation of battle stars and banners, which may run all the way through week 10, if early leaks are any indication of what’s to come.
Next week, not only will completing all the week’s challenges get you a battle pass tier, but if you have done the other six weeks, you will also be able to unlock the legendary Hunting Party skin for the first time, so stay tuned for that. But before then, we all have to sit around and watch the Cube blow up this weekend, so that will be a pretty fun distraction in the meantime. Happy hunting.
