Slightly convoluted, but not too bad
Fallout 76 feels like the biggest enigma of holiday releases. Although most of the most popular games are known quantities, no one really knows what to expect from Fallout 76. This could be an evolution of Fall, or it might be something that does not really look like Fall at all.
That's why the upcoming beta test is so important for many people. Maybe we can finally understand what this game is. The beta begins Oct. 23 on Xbox One and PC and PS4 players have access a week later, Oct. 30. Getting access is not an intuitive process, especially for those who have purchased a physical copy.
Let's take this away from the outset: You must pre-order Fallout 76 enter the beta. It is possible that Bethesda opens the floodgates after a while, but do not count on it. This beta serves as a stress test because Fallout 76 is a multiplayer-centric game, but it's also a campaign to generate pre-orders.
Alright, people who have pre-ordered digital copies will have the easiest time to set up the beta. Xbox One users can queue it here, and since the pre-order is connected to your Xbox Live account, access must be granted immediately. (It's a 50GB download, so keep that in mind.) It's the same with the PS4 and the PC. The download of the PS4 is not yet available, probably because this beta will not be available until a week. PC players can line up through the Bethesda Launcher, which is required to play Fallout 76.
However, all this is a bit more complicated for people who have ordered to places like Amazon or GameStop. Your receipt (digital or physical) should have a beta code. First, you need to sign up for a Bethesda.net account. Once this is done, use the beta code on this page. Then this page will be updated with the actual code you need to enter the beta. Finally, use this code on Xbox Live or PlayStation Network to play Fallout 76.
There are two very good reasons to participate in Fallout 76The beta test. First, it serves as a starting point before the official release of the game on November 14th. Bethesda confirmed that progress will continue in the match. Everything and everything you do matters now. Achievements and trophies will not be unlocked during the beta, but they will likely show up once the final version is available.
In addition, the beta is not a gimped version of Fallout 76. This is the current game – all places and quests included. Does this mean that a whimsical could theoretically beat the entire Fallout 76 before he actually embarks? Probably not. Bethesda does not keep servers online permanently during the beta. Bethesda said "every day, the game could last from four to eight hours." You just have to hope that the Bethesda schedule fits into your schedule.
