Fortnite has launched on Android devices. Samsung devices last week, and now it's available on other Android platforms. However, you'll have to jump through a few hoops before you can jump from the battle bus.[[Update: Epic has been launched Fortnite for Android, with the need for an invite to play it. We're here to help you find your way around Fortnite Android, but the important thing to keep in mind is that it's not on the Google Play Store. You'll just download it from Epic's website, so it's just a real deal rather than an impostor site.
Epic is using a special Fortnite Install on the company's website, so you're not going to find what you're looking for in the Google Play store like other mobile games. Searching for "Fortnite" or "Fortnite Battle Royale" will not get you anywhere. What type of Android device will you be using where and how you install the game.
Things are a bit easier for you if you've got a Samsung device. If you have a Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus, S9, S9 Plus, Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3, or Tab S4 then go to Game Launcher. From there, search for Fortnite and download the installer. That's it. You can also download the game from Epic's website.
It's with other Android devices where things get tricky. First, you'll need to check out Epic's list of compatible devices. If your device is eligible, you can sign up for Android Fortnite beta waiting list with your email. Eventually, you'll get to the front of the queue and get an email invitation to the beta. Log in with your Epic account to connect your Xbox Live, PSN, or PC Battle Pass Progress.
After that, you'll need to wait again. Epic reports it should only take a few days to get your official invite to the Fortnite beta. When your invitation is registered, you will be able to download the Fortnite Installer. Once you're on your device, you'll be able to download the Fortnite app to your phone or tablet.
When the download is done, wait for Fortnite to boot up and log into your Epic account. From there, you'll be able to start playing. You're here to keep the Fortnite Install even after you've started playing, the game is updated with new patches, not the actual game app.
If you'd rather be waiting for your beta, you can not wait to install Fortnite until the game's official Android launch. The app will still be available in the Google Play store when it does release. You'll be able to download the game through Samsung's Gold Launcher Game from Epic's website.
Fortnite is available on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
