The day of Articuno is here, and it means that the players Pokemon Go will have a chance to win. catch a Brilliant Articuno. [19659004] Earlier this week, Pokemon Go announced that players have unlocked a day of Articuno as a reward for the completion of four World Challenges on previous weekends. Articuno will return to the gyms for a three-hour window, and players who defeat Articuno in raid battles will have a chance to find and capture a brilliant Articuno.
Bright Pokemon have an alternate coloring that their non-shiny shapes and are prized because of their incredible rarity. This is the first time that Shiny Articuno appears in the game and players estimate that there is about 1 in 20 chance of finding him after a successful raid battle.
Fortunately, the day of Articuno is optimized to help players maximize their chances of finding this otherwise rare legendary Pokémon. Players can get up to five free raid passes by spinning photo discs in gyms. Raid passes are dealt one at a time, so players will need to complete a raid and then launch a photo disc to get their free raid pass.
Also – each gym will have an Articuno raid that lasts the entire three hour period. So, it makes sense to find an area with a high concentration of gyms, then meet other players who will eventually flock to this area. If you do not have a regular raid group, be sure to leave early, as most players will probably stop raiding once they get their Articuno Brilliant.
The Articuno that appears in gyms is a weaker Articuno than those that arose last summer. Articuno's stats are equivalent to those of a rank 4 raid boss. It will still be too powerful to fight alone, but a small group of coaches should be able to defeat it without too much trouble .
The main weakness of Articuno is to launch Rock type attacks, so Pokémon like Golem and Tyranitar are your ideal attackers. Fortunately, players should have at least one Tyranitar through the June Community Day, so raiding groups should have enough firepower to attack and defeat Articuno. A raid group of 3-4 high level players should be enough to defeat Tyranitar.
If you find a glossy Articuno, you will be able to catch it automatically. The Shiny Raid Bosses have a 100% catch rate, so do not worry about missing your chance if you are not very good at Curve Balls or accurate throws.
Articuno Day lasts in the United States (and in the rest of North and South America) from 2 pm to 5 pm ET. Good luck to the coaches!
