Do you remember Meltan? The strange little hex nut thrustMy stole our hearts when he showed mysteriously appeared in September, and now the odd little scamp is properly available in Pokémon GO. This is the first brand new thrustmy introduced with the mobile title, although this is a cross promotion with Pokémon let's go, outside yesterday. This is the easiest way to get your hands on the thing: play Pokémon let's go. For those who do not have switch or willingness to get Come on, However, there is also a new special search quest that will help you complete your Pokedex without making any major new purchases.
This quest has just been launched, but as usual, the data miners have unveiled all the steps before most reasonable players can get there naturally. Check out Silph Road for the full rewards, but you get the Meltan at the end of step 8.
Step 1:
- Spin 5 thruststops or gyms
- Catch 5 thrustMon
- Transfer 5 thrustMon
2nd step:
- Earn 2 candies while walking with your boyfriend
- Make 10 big throws
- Eclose 3 eggs
Step 3:
- Catch a Ditto
- Win 2 gym battles
- Battle in 2 raids
Step 4:
- Catch 5 of electric type thrustMon
- Cath 5 type steel thrustMon
- Earn 5 candies while walking with your boyfriend
Step 5:
- To evolve a grimer
- Catch 5 Slugma or Gulpin
- Make 20 Big Throws
Step 6:
- To evolve a magnemite
- Catch 5 Exeggcute
- Battle in 10 raids
Step 7:
- Evolve 1 Drowzee
- Catch 1 Cubone
- Catch 1 Scyther
Step 8:
- Catch 2 Omanyte or Kabuto
- Catch 2 Lileep or Anorith
- Cath an aerodactyle
Step 9:
Reward step with additional Meltan sweets, Stardust and a Super Incubator.
As usual, they start easily, then become a little more difficult, to the point that it will be easily the most difficult special search so far. Some of these later steps will be really difficult, especially if you're not in a good biome for creatures like Scyther or Aerodactyl, or if you're out of luck with the apparitions. With the Mew Quest, many people have struggled to catch a ditto, but it has several equally difficult steps.
These thrustCurrencies now appear at higher rates and come as rewards for quests, making things easier as long as you move fast enough. My recommendation would be to push the field research until some of these special creatures appear, then expect to catch them until you are at the stage that makes them requires. It will take some restraint / planning, but it will allow you to go through some of the most difficult steps.
I will play Let's go, which is, of course, the easiest way to do it as well as the only real way to get Meltmetal, the evolution of Meltan. More on that later.
