Apple has reversed the trend this year by opting for a user replaceable memory on the new Mac mini. The procedure is not as simple as it could be, that's why AppleInsider guides you.
When choosing your mini, you have many configuration options: processor, RAM, storage capacity and upgraded Ethernet port. Most of them can not be modified and are soldered to the motherboard, but the RAM is scalable after the purchase.

But look, here's the basic contract – you can break things and you'll be sorry. You can destroy your new computer if you are not careful, and it is not our fault. Read the entire procedure before deciding if this is something you want to do.
Important: this procedure does not void your warranty, however, everything you interrupt in the process does.
Also keep old RAM chips. If you have to bring your Mac mini back to Apple for any reason, they will not do anything with it if your RAM is installed. So, if that's the case, reinstall the RAM before heading to the Genius bar.
What do you need
For starters, you need a few things, including a Torx TR6 safety screwdriver, a Torx T9 screwdriver, a P5 screwdriver, a plastic spudger, a pair of anti-static wristwatches that you know how to use correctly.
There are many options for RAM upgrades, some on Amazon (Hynix, MemoryMasters) and many more since OWC. You can have a total of 64 GB or two 32 GB keys.
