Apple is about to announce three new iPhones and perhaps more at its fall press event, starting at 10:00 am Pacific Time (1:00 pm Eastern Time) on September 12th.
To watch on Twitter, people have to press or click the heart button (like) to this tweet, which is also integrated below. Apple will then send updates on the 12th, including instructions on how to watch.
Otherwise, the easiest way for most people to watch will be via the Apple Event Page. A video stream should appear shortly before the start of the event, although the company's preferred broadcast technology means that only certain browsers are guaranteed. This includes Safari under macOS 10.12 or iOS 10 or later, and under Windows 10, Microsoft Edge.
The company notes that "recent" versions of Chrome or Firefox may work, so be sure to update them if one of these browsers is the browser of your choice.
If you own a second generation Apple TV or later, you should be able to watch via the "Events" app. If it's not already done, users of tvOS-based models, such as the Apple TV 4K, can download it from the App Store of their terminal.
The highlight of the event is expected to be the "iPhone XS," a sequel to last year's 5.8-inch iPhone X OLED with a faster "A12" processor and various other internal upgrades. It may have a new golden color option and a 6.5-inch version called "XS Plus" or "XS Max". One also expects a 6.1 inch LCD-based "iPhone Xc" based on an LCD screen, a less expensive alternative that should nevertheless share features such as an edge-to-edge display and a face ID.
The Apple Watch "Series 4" will also debut, gaining a larger screen and a thinner chassis. The extra space of the screen should allow new clocks with more complications, and it is possible that the device adds new sensors, for example one for EKG readings.
The updated iPad pros need to keep their current sizes of 10.5 and 12.9 inches, but dramatically reduce their dials from Touch ID to Face ID. As usual, a faster Series A chip and other improved internal components will come in tandem.
The new Macs are less secure, but you could say Apple could upgrade its lower-priced MacBooks, perhaps adding a Retina display to the 13-inch Air. It could even update the Mac mini, which is four years old, and possibly rename it as professional equipment.
If nothing else, Apple will reveal the release dates for iOS 12, tvOS 12, macOS Mojave and watchOS 5. There is also expectation that AirPower and AirPods charging mats be launched.
